Es Profesora Asociada de Musicología en la Universidad de California Riverside. Se especializa en la música de México, nacionalismo y exoticismo, música y estado, y las relaciones político-musicales entre México y los Estados Unidos. Sus publicaciones de próxima aparición incluyen: “Carlos Chávez’s Polysemic Style: Constructing the National, Seeking the Cosmopolitan” (Journal of the American Musicological Society) y la edición del libro Carlos Chávez and his World (Bard/Princeton UP).

She is Associate Professor of Musicology at the University of California Riverside. Her research interests include the music of Mexico, nationalism and exoticism, music and the state, and the musical and political relations between Mexico and the United States.
