Joshua Katz-Rosene

He received his PhD in ethnomusicology from the City University of New York’s Graduate Center. His current research focuses on music, politics, and conflict in Latin America. Venues for his published work include the Oxford Handbook of Protest Music (forthcoming), Latin American Music Review, and the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo. He was a Visiting Professor at the Universidad de los Andes in Bogotá and is now Visiting Assistant Professor at Franklin and Marshall College in Pennsylvania. His book, titled From Protest Song to Social Song: Music and Resistance in Colombia through Fifty Years of Conflict, will be published in the Music and Social Justice series on the University of Michigan Press.
