About the journal

Resonancias is a music research journal from the Music Institute of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. It publishes articles, documents, and reviews in three languages: Spanish, English, and Portuguese (see Author Guidelines), and is present in various internationally renowned indexes and databases. The articles received are evaluated through the double-blind external peer-review system (see Editorial procedures).

It is a semi-annual non-profit journal that does not charge its authors for publishing, nor is it financed by advertising, but only with its own funds.

It is also open access according to the DOAJ definition. Since 2014, all its content is available online and can be freely downloaded by users without needing a subscription or data delivery. All material published in Resonancias (website and printed journal) is licensed under the Creative Commons 4.0 "Attribution - No Derivation - Non-Commercial" license (for more details, see Intellectual Property).

Since 1998, Resonancias has published every two years the works recognized with the “Samuel Claro Valdés” Latin American Musicology Prize, awarded by the Institute of Music of the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile.
